A friend of mine decided to drag me along to a Metafit Course. Something I didn't know an awful lot about, apart from it used HIIT training principles to work you out, so went along prepared to hurt lots and hoping that i wouldn't die.
So now I am inspired to help improve myself too I feel this will be a great addition to the training programme, and am planning to add a session into my schedule as soon as I can.
It was exhausting, challenging, but exhilarating and completely different to the Bokwa, Metafit is most certainly NOT a Dance Class. And it was very gratifying to see that other, much fitter people on the course, were also flagging and struggling to achieve the workouts towards the end of each section.
The day started with a master-class, which I was prepared to hurt for, having done 2 hours at the Bokwa master-class at the start of my level 3 I was prepared for the pain. The question was asked "How long is the Master-class?" The answer came back from Naz our trainer....."18 Minutes"!!!
Er....that doesn't sound very long, but believe me after a warm up and the 18 minutes, we were ready to die.
The beauty of it, is that it works at all levels, so while some super-fitties may be able to do the higher level exercises, there are many adaptation for those of us not quite so advanced, but equally loads to go by way of progression..
We were reliably informed that the fittest people would be the ones suffering the most, which is quite gratifying when you are struggling to do your own first session and doing it badly. But looking round the room, I was not the only one struggling at times, some of the more fit people were also being greatly challenged. the premise of the workout being to push yourself to your own limits, so my limits are just as challenging as the fittest person's, they just have harder stuff to cope with.
So a workout in less than half an hour eh? I feel all the time excuses starting to drift away.

HIIT training and Tabata training are key to improving fitness, and with such busy lifestyles we lead, this should fit with most people's time schedules.
